BIOGRAPHY - Li Genxin
Secretary General, China Arms Control and Disarmament Association

Since 2003, Dr. Li Genxin is the Secretary-General of China Institute of International Studies and the China Arms Control and Disarmament Association.
Dr. Li joined the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1988. He served as the third secretary in the Department of International Organizations and Conferences, second secretary in the Chinese Permanent Mission to the United Nations, and first secretary in the International Department of the Office of the Commissioner of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and director and counselor of the Research and Policy Division of the Foreign Ministry’s Department of Arms Control.
He graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor of Art from History Department, Suzhou University. He got his Masters in World History in 1988 and Doctoral degree in International Relations in 2005 from the Institute of Foreign Affairs, Beijing.
His research interests cover international security, relations among big powers, arms control, disarmament and nonproliferation. His major publications include:
